Milky Way Over The Wairarapa

The Milky Way rises over the Wairarapa on the North Island of New Zealand.

The lights from the towns of Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Martinborough and Featherston can be seen in the image from left to right. The photo was shot from on top of the Tararua Ranges at a height of around 1300m above sea level, and with the area being so remote and a long walk from anywhere, I had to be flown in by helicopter.
